The Nature Conservancy Photo Competition

As everyone knows, a picture is worth a thousand words. Any nature advocate could talk for days on end about the importance of conservation but no amount of talk can match the power and influence of a great photo. With this in mind, the Nature conservancy is holding its 5th Annual Digital Photo Competition. They are inviting all nature-loving shutterbugs to enter their favorite shots! Here’s a link to last year’s winner, Carol Grant.

This year, there will be 35 photos selected as honorable mentions and finalists. The winner will be selected by public vote and featured on the cover of the Nature Conservancy’s 2012 calendar and their website.

To submit a photo, click here to enter the Conservancy’s free Flickr photo sharing group.

This could be a great opportunity to showcase - and garner further awareness for - the oft overlooked Antarctic.

All photos should include the tag “PhotoContest-TNC10”. The deadline for submission is October 4, 2010 at 11:59 PST. Click here for more information.
